Full-stack developers are in-demand and the need for talent is predicted to grow beyond 2019.[/caption]all available openings make it onto popular job search engines–meaning, there’s plenty of opportunity for savvy devs who look for openings beyond big search sites (hint: recruiters–like neteffects, directly with companies of interest, StackOverflow, Reddit, etc.)

Sought-After Full Stack Developer Skills*

A full stack developer should have experience with the following for the front-end: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery and Bootstrap in addition to at least one of the following advanced front-end frameworks: React, Angular, Vue, or Flow, plus a data and state management tool: Redux, RxJS, NgRx, and finally, a front-end bundling tool like Webpack or Gulp.For back-end server side languages at least one of the following: Java, Python, Rust, plus a framework: Spring, Hibernate, or another (for Java), Flask, Django, or another (for Python), and Rocket, Actix (for Rust)When it comes to databases it’s desirous & beneficial to know a couple: MySQL, NoSQL, MongoDB, PostgresSQL, Cassandra, Redis, etc.Full-stack devs should also have a good foundation or understanding of in security best practices. Developers who can scratch this itch, will be more sought after. With that said, if you’re solely front or back-end as a developer, now’s the time to learn more and increase the value you can offer to potential employers, as this position is sure to continue to see upward growth & demand in the coming years.
