NETEFFECTS LOOKING FOR TEMPORARY IT JOBS FOR HURRICANE KATRINA SURVIVORS COMING TO ST. LOUIS

In an effort to help Hurricane Katrina survivors coming to St. Louis who have IT skills find temporary jobs, a local IT staff placement company is reaching out to the business community with a plea to create temporary IT jobs.

NetEffects, one of St. Louis’ largest locally-owned IT staffing companies, has established a Displaced IT Worker Database and is asking St. Louis companies to consider hiring a few extra IT workers temporarily to help Katrina survivors regain their dignity by providing IT jobs.

NetEffects is offering to contract these individuals to companies at their actual cost (eliminating any profit), will help workers reconstruct resumes, do preliminary skills screenings and then try and place them with local firms who have IT needs.

“We feel a responsibility to help these survivors regain hope, regain some personal dignity, by getting them into a meaningful job as quickly as possible,” said NetEffects President Jack Bader.

Companies willing to offer temporary IT jobs should call Rachel Stuart at 636-237-1000 or email Rachel@neteffects.com to put their job needs into the firm’s special database. NetEffects is also reaching out to their client companies asking them to participate.

The firm is also contacting a number of community service agencies like the Red Cross, Catholic Charities, Lutheran Family & Children’s Services and Jewish Family & Children’s Services to let them know this special job-placement service is available to Katrina survivors they may be assisting.

Since 1995 NetEffects has been providing faster, smarter, better contract staffing solutions and consulting services around the world for a variety of industries including information technology, pharmaceutical, telecommunications and government services. The company headquarters is in St. Louis and has offices in Chicago and Northern California.
